Presenting the Ali Sedky Memorial Library

On January 10, the AISJ Middle/High school library completed its "Name the Library" contest in a truly heartfelt and unique way. 6th grader Adam Kafi was our winner after his selfless and brilliant video submission where he demonstrated how the attributes and characteristics of the school's Mission Statement, Vision Statement and Core Values deemed critical for success were personified by Ali Sedky, an AISJ student who sadly passed away in May 2016 after a long, courageous and inspiring battle with leukemia. Adam decided not to name the library after himself but instead to honor and memorialize Ali, a student who exemplified honesty, integrity, kindness, community-mindedness and who even during his health battles still had a smile on his face and provided a positive, motivating example for others. AISJ congratulates and thanks Adam for his creativity and inspiration, and welcomes all members of the AISJ community into the newly dedicated Ali Sedky Memorial Library.
