Mother Language Day on Feb. 22!

International Mother Language Day

International Mother Language Day was created by UNESCO in 2000 to celebrate linguistic and cultural diversity. International Mother Language Day helps to develop awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions throughout the world, and to inspire understanding, tolerance and dialogue.

To celebrate International Mother Language Day at AISJ, we are going to have a (free) casual day on Wednesday, February 22. You can wear a shirt with your native language writing on it and jeans (no rips).

Other activities to celebrate International Mother Language Day include writing on bulletin board paper and silent reading in your native language (bring a book from home!). We will also have two parent coffees this week with the theme of Raising Bilingual Children. Help support this important day!
