AISJ 7th grade students are currently learning about cell structure and function.
Ms. Al Luqman gave her students a chance to use what they've been learning in class and have a little fun at the same time. Students worked in small groups and were given Jello, fruits and different types of candy. They were asked to use each of these items to create a cell, using each food to represent a different part of the cell.
The students showed their creativity when making these edible cell models. Once they were finished constructing their models, they labeled each part, showing things like the cell wall, nucleus and mitochondria. And, of course, when the activity was over, the students were able to enjoy their candy-licious cells.
