In 2016, a group of parents, staff, students, and community members created a Strategic Plan for AISJ. A new Mission Statement and Vision Statement were two of the items the Strategic Planning Committee worked on and created during this time.

The Mission Statement reflects our reason for existence and inspires a better future.  It communicates what the school aspires to become and answers the questions: “What is our enduring core purpose?” and “Who are we most concerned about serving?”

The Vision Statement articulates our preferred future and consists of vivid and positive language that is concrete and specific and it answers the question: “What do we envision we will create on our way to achieving our Mission?”

Mission Outcomes are measurable end results that are directly related to the purposes of our mission. They stretch out no more than 5 years and provide evidence that the Mission is being achieved. They answer the question: “For what system-wide outcomes will the school be held accountable?”

By 2021, each learner

  • Actively engages in the pursuit of knowledge.
  • Demonstrates the active pursuit of dreams.
  • Develops skills of a global citizen while actively contributing to the community.

Core Values are explicit expressions of the fundamental values and deep abiding convictions of AISJ. They represent a common ground on which all AISJ members stand on and forms the foundation upon which the rest of the plan is built. It answers the question: “Who are we?”

  • We believe that quality education has the power to make a positive impact on individuals and societies.
  • We believe that honesty and integrity build a culture of transparency and trust.
  • We believe that Passion and commitment motivate, inspire, and empower life-long learners.
  • We believe that a school community thrives when there is open communication and collaboration.
  • We believe that respect cultivates positive relationships.
  • We believe that helping others benefits communities and leads to personal growth.
  • Embracing cultural diversity develops relationships and enriches life.

Strategies describe HOW the school will achieve its Mission, Vision, and Mission Outcomes. It answers the question: “What must we do as a system to ensure the achievement of our Mission Outcomes, and ultimately, our Mission and Vision?”
