Arts.

The arts are not an add-on at AISJ. They are central to how students learn to see, hear, and express.

From the first finger painting in Pre‑K to the senior musical on the main stage, creative expression runs through every division.

AISJ students take a prescribed number of Arts credits as a graduation requirement. The department includes music, theatre, and visual art offerings, and organizes concerts, art exhibits, plays, and musicals throughout the year.

  • Visual Art

The Visual Art Program gives students a challenging approach to creative expression. Students work with traditional materials and digital technologies, develop artistic skills, study art history and other cultures, practice criticism and aesthetics, and create original individual and collaborative work.

  • Choral Music

The choral program aims to transform lives and build community through choral music. Course content focuses on healthy vocal technique, musical literacy, and artistic excellence. The program includes two formal concerts each year, along with other opportunities:

    • SAIK music festivals
    • The TAISM Festival of Choirs
    • Local performances
  • Instrumental Music

AISJ's instrumental music program begins in middle school and continues through high school. Students learn orchestral or band instruments in group settings and participate in ensembles:

    • Beginning Band or Strings
    • Concert Band
    • Advanced Strings
    • Symphonic Band
    • Symphony Orchestra
  • Theatre and Drama

The Drama Department provides introductory theatre classes, Theatre Production, and Stagecraft. Students can explore acting, stagecraft, improv comedy nights, plays, musicals, and behind-the-scenes roles including lighting, sound, costume, makeup, and stage management.
