Learning with Technology Welcome

As a 21st century school, we fully understand the importance of incorporating technology, not only in specialized classes that target specific subjects of technology, however also in all classrooms.

Classroom “Tech-Integration”

At AISJ, in addition to the Computer Science courses offered throughout our Pre-K through Grade 12 curriculum, we have a dedicated Technology Integration team in our IT department. This team is responsible for supporting both teachers and students alike in keeping up with technological advancements. Some of the programs that this team oversees or are currently working on are:

Incorporating tablets in Elementary School classrooms. Introducing mobile computer labs in both the Elementary and Middle Schools. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) 1:1 iPad program in the Middle School and 1:1 Laptop in the High School allowing students to collaborate with peers, efficiently analyze and collect data and increase technology-related skills.

Computer Lab Facilities

In total, there are seven fully-equipped computer labs on campus; four in the Elementary School, one in the Middle School and two in the High School.

Computer Science Courses Offered

Elementary School

All Elementary School students, from Pre-K through Grade 5, have Information Technology (IT) as part of their course list. The focus of this department is to ensure students become better digital citizens by learning:

Proper keyboard techniques and mouse skills How to use various computer and web resources to enhance learning How to navigate productivity tools such as those included in the MS Office Suite (ie. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) How to use Google Apps for Education in order to produce, share and collaborate with peers How to utilize their internet research skills

Middle School

With the foundations learned in Elementary School, students have the option to further explore Computer Sciences through selecting one of the following Computer Science course:

Basic Applications Introduction to Robotics

High School

As students move into High School, their elective options expand further and can choose from any of the following Computer Science courses:

Basic Applications Introduction to Programming Introduction to Application Development Graphic Design AutoCad Digital Media Robotics
