Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees at the American International School of Jeddah provides strategic leadership, fiduciary oversight, and governance to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of the school. Working closely with the Superintendent, the Board supports AISJ’s vision and mission while ensuring the school remains aligned with its core values and educational goals. The Board does not engage in the day-to-day operational management of the school; rather, it focuses on policy, strategic direction, and institutional accountability. Each trustee serves a three-year term, contributing their time, expertise, and leadership as unpaid volunteers. Through their guidance and stewardship, the Board helps ensure AISJ continues to thrive as a dynamic and forward-thinking institution.

Dr. Sherene El-Sioufi is a quadruple board-certified physician specializing in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. Born and raised in the United States, she moved to Jeddah in 2016 with her husband and four children and currently practices at the International Medical Center. Alongside her medical career, Dr. El-Sioufi is committed to serving and strengthening the wider community. As a member of the AISJ Board, she brings a thoughtful parent perspective, professional leadership, and a strong commitment to supporting the school’s continued growth and long-term success.

Vice Chair of the Board
Gary B. Flom is a global automotive and mobility executive with 26 years of leadership experience in the United States and Saudi Arabia. As President & CEO of a major Ford Motor Company business unit, he transformed two decades of losses into a $1 billion enterprise and built a leading commercial and government fleet operation. In Saudi Arabia, he co-founded National Transportation Solutions Company (NTSC), scaling it into MENA’s largest integrated fleet and mobility technology platform. Member of the Board
Wajid Khan holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology in the United States. He began his career as a software engineer in the U.S. before moving to Jeddah in 2015 and currently serves as a Field Services Engineer for Leidos Inc. His family has been part of the AISJ community for many years, giving him a strong connection to the school and its families. As a Board member, Wajid is focused on supporting innovation, continuous improvement, and opportunities that help every scholar reach their full potential.
